Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Heather! I’m a 26 year old single gal living in Clarksville, TN with my cat Tiger. I’m a CAT scan technologist at the local hospital by day (well, unless I’m on night shifts) and a self-proclaimed home chef by night!
I just recently got to a point in my life where I don’t have a million and one things going on at once. I finally sat down one day and decided it was time to see what I enjoy in life and do more of it. It didn’t take me long after stumbling across my first food/healthy living blog to see that food is definitely my passion. I started trying out a couple of recipes I found on the blogs and the next thing I knew wheels were turning and I had all these incredible food creations. I wanted to start a blog to be able to log these creations and share them with others.
I think of myself as a clean-eating cook. I like to use fresh ingredients and try to stay away from over-processed foods, refined sugars, and salt. It really is amazing how well food can taste with the right spice combinations…you don’t even think to add salt (or sugar depending on the dish). I’m definitely not a picky eater which makes experimenting in the kitchen even more of an adventure. I will try anything once!
I don’t really believe in labeling yourself by the food that you eat. I really don’t eat a lot of meat, but I also don’t intentionally leave it out of my diet. Some weeks I eat mostly veggies and grains and some weeks I eat chicken…just because I can! 😉
I hope to help inspire people to prepare fresh and healthy meals. I strongly believe in the adage “you are what you eat.” Hope you like what you see and well, if you don’t…you can kiss my broccoli! 😉
welcome to bloggin’! i love clean eating so i cant wait to see what you cook up and post 🙂
Thank you! I was a little nervous about starting a blog, but just decided to quit worrying and just go for it! Thanks for reading Janetha!

Hi! Just found your blog! I too believe that with the right spices, you can create a beautiful and nutritious dish. 🙂 Love your pictures as well!
Thank you so much Parita! It really is all about creativity and trusting yourself in the kitchen, isn’t it? Eating nutritiously is not as hard as people make it out to be!
My name is Jennifer I’m the lucky individual who got the opportunity to share the Arbonne Essentials with Carrie and her blog. I send products to individuals regularly to allow them to see if they are right for them. I’d love the opportunity to share them with you! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Ask and thou shall receive! 😉
Hey Heather – so I’m kinda new to this blogging thing, in fact, this is my first time! I too live in TN. I’ve always loved eating good food. There is nothing quite like the way really exquisite food can make you close your eyes and forget where you are for a moment!! I’m 27 and recently divorced. I was too depressed for a long time to cook for myself. (anything other than fishsticks or peanut butter and jelly!) But my heart is on the mend, and my appetite (for food and life!) is SLLOOOOWLY returning! haha. So I wanted to say thank you for your blog! I can’t wait to read more!!
Thank you so much for popping in and saying hello Lexi! It’s amazing how similar our stories sound. My love of the kitchen (and enjoying food in general) was the first thing to go when depression reared its ugly head during my divorce. It took me a long time before I was able to find joy in anything again. I remember that time when I started to come around and “see the light at the end of the tunnel” if you will. Stick with it girl, I promise it DOES get better!
If you ever need to talk about anything, I’ve always been a good listener. I know one of the biggest problems I had going through my divorce was finding someone just to listen (and not bash my ex). I’m just an email away!
Hi Heather! I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself because we have mutual blog “friends” 🙂 I’ve only been blogging for a few months and I just started reading your blog shortly after that. I have been truly LOVING it. And I just thought it was about time that I comment and let you know that I think you’re awesome and I absolutely love your blog 🙂 Thanks so much!
No, THANK YOU!! I love “meeting” new readers! You are too sweet!
I’m off to go take a look at your baby blog!
Thank you so, so much for your help! I’m happy I’ve found your blog now! 😀 😀 😀
I’m very sorry that I needed so long for a proper response and thank you, especially given your support! These days, I have a little technical trouble (my laptop died last weekend), so I’m not as present in the blog sphere as I’d like to be. I’ll be back to your blog with a vengeance as soon as I have a new laptop, hopefully by the end of the week.
Have a happy day!
You’re very welcome Kath! I hope you are getting enough feedback to help with your thesis. It’s a very interesting topic! Good luck with getting the new laptop!
It’s going quite well, thank you for asking! 🙂 And I’ve borrowed a notebook from a friend, so I’m back in the net now and about to hop over to your homepage.
Love your food philosophy, btw! The “You are what you eat”, and freeing yourself from labels. 🙂
Just wanted to say that I love your blog! you’ve got such fab recipes, can’t wait to try them out, and a great sense of humour that had me in stitches.
it’s so wonderful to find other bloggers who are as passionate about fitness, health and nutrition as I am:)
keep up the fabulous work!
